Web Site Promotion Strategies

Over the years, marketing web sites has become an industry in its own right, with Google, MSN, and Yahoo Search Engines eating up the bulk of the marketing resources through their keyword targeted ads programs. While these ad programs are important enhancements to any site, there are added promotions that must be considered:

  • Print Advertising Display your web site address prominently in newspaper, magazine, and billboard advertising, and also in your print collateral such as letterhead and business cards. Treat your web site address as if it is a 1-800 number.
  • Email listservs drive traffic. Some of our clients benefit nicely from list serv technology which allows clients to inform their ongoing clients and cultivate interest in new clients using an email newsletter type of outreach. Informative, brief articles can be forwarded to people outside the list and viewed as a potential viral marketing piece. Be sure your email list is made up of only your clients and those others who are interested in what you have to say - the standard list serve technology provides for opt-out functionality, and is formatted in such a way that it follows the rapidly changing rules of most spam filters.   • Keyword Rich Domain Names Work! If you are trying to market Real Estate, it helps to have key words like home, realty, or real estate in your domain name. SOmetimes it is worth paying more for the domain name than registration fees. We have successfully negotiated high level domain names for clients willing to buy their way to the top of the search engines.
